To get a profile
of each legislator, click on his or her name.
To directly
contact your legislator, click on his or her name. Below the
legislator’s picture is a gray button that says Send Message.

How to Locate
Your Federal Legislator
Click into the
Legislative Action Center which is located in the toolbar on the
left-hand side of the screen.
Scroll down to
the Michigan Legislative Action Center.
In the box
called My Elected Officials, click on the “View” button on
the right-hand side.
In the address
box in the middle of your screen, enter the address of your
personal residence OR your affiliated hospital/health care
system
Click “Go”
Federal

How to Locate
MI House and Senate Committee Members
Click into the
Legislative Action Center which is located in the toolbar on the
left-hand side of the screen.
Scroll down to
the Michigan Legislative Action Center.
Scroll down to
MI State Officials and Agencies and click on the “View”
button on the right hand side.
Scroll down to
Michigan State Legislative Directory and click on that
link.
To search by
committee, select a committee from the drop-down menu (Senate
Committees are listed first, followed by House Committees). Click
“Go” to obtain a list of all the committee members.
To get a full
list of the members of the Michigan House or Senate, scroll down
to Listing of Michigan Legislators. Choose whether you
want members from the Michigan House or Senate, click “Go”. A
list of legislators listed by party, including a total of the
numbers of Republicans and Democrats will be displayed.
How to
Contact Your Media
Click into the
Legislative Action Center which is located in the toolbar on the
left-hand side of the screen.
Scroll down to
the Michigan Legislative Action Center.
Scroll down to
the last option, Media Guide. Click the “View” button.
In the Media
Guide, a list of national and state media sources are available.
To contact your
local media outlet, scroll down and select the TV, radio or
newspaper you would like to contact. Click “Go” to obtain the
contact information.
For letters to
your local newspaper, click on the name of the Editor or Managing
Editor.
Click “Compose
Message”, fill out pertinent fields and enter the body of your
message.
Click “Send
Message”.
How to
Respond to an Action Alert
Click into the
Legislative Action Center which is located in the toolbar on the
left-hand side of the screen.
Action Alerts
are located in the first box.
Click the “Take
Action” Button below the message you want to send. (To review the
messages, you may go to Sample Letters located on the
Hospitals-ACT home page)
A brief
description about the issue will appear, allowing you to
familiarize yourself with the issue and providing other pertinent
details.
To send a
message, you can use the form letter that is already in the body
of the letter, or you can use your own personalized message.
Input your
contact information in the address in the in the gray “Take Action
Now” box on the right-hand side of the screen.
The message will
be directed to either your State Senator or Representative based
on the status of the legislation, which will be indicated in the
gray “Take Action Now” box on the right-hand side of the screen.
